Part 1

Humanity has probably never been in as much danger as it now finds itself in. Unfortunately, there are only a few of us that are aware of how little time we have left, in order to save ourselves. Perhaps you dear reader will be aware of how successful our efforts have been. Having said that, perhaps this will never be read by human eyes.

It seems strange looking back that the invasion was greeted with such equinimity by the world. Perhaps it would have been better if they had arrived with weapons blazing, causing mass death and destruction. Maybe then people would have been aware of the danger that they were in.

However, I digress. No-one ever expected there to be an incident of first contact with an alien race. After all, that only happens in the movies and scifi stuff like Star Trek and B5. Surprisingly it seems the military were caught off guard, though I suppose that despite the programmes such as SETI actively looking for messages, albeit in a much reduced role, the military themselves probably never considered the possibility that the detailed plans would be put into action.

I don't know if you know what happened, but as with all things, it may be best to start from the beginning.

As far as I am aware it started in the summer of 2004. There were small incursions by what we believe were either scouting craft, or indeed autonomous survey drones. Their initial entries into the atmosphere were written off as meteorites or asteroids, and from what information we have been able to gather, there was nothing unusual picked up by the military establishments. It would seem that it was believed that the objects burned up in the atmosphere.

Shortly afterwards there were a number of sightings of strange craft, although given the locations of the sightings, they were either written off as the stories of 'gullible hicks', attention seeking individuals or indeed drunken hallucinations. Despite a handful of sightings by some commercial and military pilots, nothing was ever seen on radar, be they civilian or the more powerful military equipment.

This is most surprising given the fact that there was a proven corroborated sighting in Key West, the craft whipping past the island at a fairly rapid pace, right over the centre of the island heading eastwards. It was seen by a large number of people attending the Sunset Celebrations, as it came out of the glare of the sun...especially considering the prominent shockwave coming off the water being a bit of a giveaway.

Whether there was a response by the military is unknown at this time, although it would have been silly in hindsight if something wasn't done. We think there may have been some discreet enquiries, as with all things, there were still the official denials of the existence of extraterrestrial craft, despite the evidence being more accurate and proveable than it had been in many years, especially considering the multiple hoaxes and the continuing fallout from the Roswell debacle.
